UPDATE: Wintry Mix Closes Baltimore County, Private Schools

UPDATE (5:30 a.m.)—Baltimore County officials announced that schools will close today due to inclement weather.

Last night's wintry mix most likely caused icy street conditions, according to the National Weather Service. Perry Hall residents should expect additional rain, sleet and snow throughout the day Tuesday. A high near 38 degrees is expected with winds 9-11 mph.

On Patch websites throughout Maryland, Charlie Gischlar, a State Highway Administration spokesman, announced, "The State Highway Administration is treating roads and highways with salt. There are some slushy patches, particularly on elevated sections of highway. Log onto www.roads.maryland.gov and click CHART for live travel information."

Additional snow and rain could fall on Perry Hall Tuesday night and into Wednesday, according to the NWS.
