Levindale Auxiliary Hosts Cooking Demonstration
The menu for the Levindale Auxiliary's virtual cooking event included excellent recipes, good conversation and lots of thank yous!
The Levindale Auxiliary turned a virtual cooking demonstration into a recipe for success to thank its members for their support in helping residents and patients throughout the year at Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Elite Jakob, author of “I Live In My Kitchen…But You Don’t Have To!” was the perfect person to share her mouth-watering recipes for carrot souffle and apple strudel.
Ms. Jakob shared step-by-step instructions about how to combine the ingredients together, why she was doing certain things and what substitutions could be made with the 35 Auxiliary members online. Ms. Jakob was very conversational, very easy to understand, and she answered questions as she went along. Thanks to the Auxiliary, members received the recipes ahead of time and an apron for their cooking adventure.

In addition to the cooking, Levindale Auxiliary President Iris Miller had the latest updates on some of the many, many programs, services, equipment and activities that the Levindale Auxiliary hosts, sponsors and supports. The Auxiliary’s beautiful Sensory Garden and its donor wall were also part of the presentation as was a lovely video look back over the years.
Levindale’s President Deborah Graves joined in the fun and shared her “great gratitude” for the members’ ongoing commitment and dedication to the people who call Levindale home for short- and long-term stays. Many thanks to everyone who organized and participated in this event!
