LifeBridge Health Names New Director of Community Development

Baltimore, MD – LifeBridge Health is pleased to welcome Marianne Navarro as director of community development. In her role, Navarro will further LifeBridge Health’s community-focused mission by developing and strengthening community relationships and working with partners to improve the quality of life for residents in the neighborhoods surrounding LifeBridge Health campuses in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Carroll County,

Navarro has an extensive background in community and economic development. Her career includes serving as the City of Baltimore’s first Anchor Institution coordinator. The Baltimore City Anchor Plan (BCAP) is an award winning, place-based community and economic development strategy with the goal of aligning resources between Baltimore City government and higher education and medical institutions.

In her new role at LifeBridge Health, Navarro will direct the expansion and implementation of the services and programs that focus on neighborhood improvement, education and workforce training, business and economic development, and community capacity building. Navarro will also serve as a liaison to local governments, neighborhood associations and non-profit organizations to strengthen existing and to build new relationships and priorities between LifeBridge Health and our communities.

Along with her work BCAP, Navarro has also served as a special assistant for neighborhood and economic development for the mayor’s office during several administrations. Included in her time at City Hall, Marianne also acted as a lead liaison to city agencies in the areas of planning and zoning, workforce development, housing and community development, small minority and women-owned business, and economic development.

Navarro has been recognized on The Daily Record’s VIP and Top 100 Women lists. A certified urban planner, she earned a Master of Community Planning degree from the University of Maryland College Park after attending Towson University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in geography and environmental planning. More recently, she completed her M.B.A. specializing in real estate and Infrastructure at Johns Hopkins University.

Navarro began her role as director of community develop in December.
