Happy Friday, Potomac. We've made it to the end of another work week. Here's your five things to know today.

1. Today's weather will mirror Thursday's atypical late summer day. In a nutshell: sunny, temps in the mid-80s, then dipping into the mid-60s in the evening. How can you not love this forecast?

2. Pick up an historical novel or a childhood favorite at the used book sale at the Potomac Library Saturday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The library is located at 10101 Glenolden Dr. For more entertainment and activities this weekend, see our picks in this week's guide.

3. It's that time of year again! Shop Maryland Week—the state's tax free week—runs Sunday, Aug. 14, through Saturday, Aug. 20. That means tax-free shopping for items under $100—just in time for back-to-school shopping.

4 If it's mid-August, it's time for the at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg. I know that some of the moms on our Moms Council are planning to take their kids. I love the county fair! How about you?
