What is your family doing for fun now that school and activities are under way, the torrential rains have passed, and we have honored Sept. 11?

We’re enjoying September weather, and we’re doing some weekend trips because its such a great time to year to travel.  We’re headed to Lancaster County, PA, one weekend coming up (to Dutch Wonderland and the Strasburg Rail Road), and we are still trying to decide where to spend another weekend—Charlottesville, Baltimore Inner Harbor or Ocean City. We’re also trying to decide which activities to sign the kids up for this fall; there are so many choices, it’s sort of mind boggling.   

As a mom of a Beverly Farms student that’s been a little challenging, though because the long bus ride to the holding school really limits time-wise what activities we can fit in after school. So, I’ve been hesitant to sign up for much until we’re certain when she’ll be home via the bus (the arrival time of which has varied quite a bit during the first two weeks of school!), so that’s been an added challenge (but well worth having a new facility).

I wish we were doing more fun things! Our summer was so hectic that we're really just trying to work ourselves back into a schedule. During all that rain we did go to Bounce U for a playdate, and that was a fun alternative to having the children running around the house. We also went to the butterfly exhibit at Brookside Gardens. And now that it's not unbearably hot we're going for more walks and spending more time at the park.
