A Monday release issued by the Montgomery County Police Department identified the deceased driver as 39-year-old Jorge Estuardo Moran Hernandez, of Clarksburg.

Early findings in the investigation found that the Clarksburg man was driving a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck on the northbound lanes of Woodfield Road when he collided with a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was traveling on the southbound lanes.

"Following the collision, the Ford crashed into an embankment, rolled, and collided with a guardrail," reads the release. "Moran Hernandez was partially ejected from the truck and pronounced dead on scene."

Police said the investigation into the case remains ongoing and "may take several weeks to months to complete."

Anyone with knowledge of the collision is urged to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at (240) 773-6620.
