County Crime Report: Commercial Burglary, Attempted Murder, Theft

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County Police responded to a variety of incidents this month, including reports of residential and commercial burglaries, theft from vehicles, strong-arm robberies, and an attempted murder.

Some of the incidents are published below and broken down by district and nature of the alleged crime.

Rockville

Theft From Vehicle

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 10800 block of Pebble Brook Lane between approximately 8:30 p.m. on April 15 and 6:00 a.m. the following day. Money was taken.

Vehicle Theft

A vehicle theft occurred in the 14900 block of Old Dover Road between approximately 4:02 p.m. on March 22 and 8:00 a.m. on April 18. Unknown entry.

Bethesda

Theft From Vehicles

Multiple thefts from vehicles were reported between April 14 and 20. Affected streets include: Wisconsin Avenue, Oak Lane, Washington Avenue, Meadow Lane, Rosemary Hills Drive, and East West Highway. Force was reported in multiple events. Money and property were taken.

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 4600 block of Highland Avenue between approximately 4:00
p.m. on April 12 and 9:40 a.m. on April 14. No force was used; property was taken.

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 4600 block of Merivale Road in the early morning hours of April 15. No force was used; money was taken.

Residential Burglary, Theft From Vehicle

A residential garage burglary and theft from vehicle occurred at the same residence in the 4500
block of Highland Avenue between approximately 8:12 a.m. on April 12 and 10:30 p.m. the following day. No signs of forced entry, the garage door and vehicle were reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Commercial Burglary

A commercial burglary occurred at Thelo Greek Grill located at 8009 Norfolk Avenue between approximately 4:00 p.m. on April 14 and 8:09 a.m. the following day. No signs of forced entry; money was taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at NIH located at 6707 Democracy Boulevard between
approximately 6:00 p.m. on April 17 and 7:45 a.m. on April 18. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

Silver Spring

Residential Burglary

A residential burglary occurred in the 8400 block of Fenton Street between approximately 4:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on April 14.

A residential shed burglary occurred in the 2600 block of Loma Street between approximately 4:00 p.m. on April 11 and 6:00 p.m. on April 14. No signs of forced entry, the door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Commercial Burglary

A commercial burglary occurred at HerbaFi located at 8413 Ramsey Avenue in the early morning hours of April 17. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

Strong-Arm Robbery

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 8300 block of Colesville Road at approximately 11:09 p.m. on April 17. The suspect took cash from the adult male victim.

Aggravated Assault

An aggravated assault occurred in the 8400 block of 11th Avenue at approximately 10:17 p.m. on April 16. One suspect displayed a weapon. The suspects assaulted the adult male victim.

An aggravated assault occurred in the area of Castle Boulevard and Briggs Chaney Road at approximately 9:34 p.m. on April 20. The suspect assaulted the adult male victim. The suspect was arrested.

Wheaton

Strong-Arm Robbery

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 11100 block of Veirs Mill Road at approximately 4:03 p.m. on April 16. The suspect assaulted the adult male victim and took his property.

Commercial Burglary

A commercial burglary occurred in the maintenance room of the Metro Pointe Apartments located at 11175 Georgia Avenue between approximately 5:00 p.m. on April 19 and 9:50 a.m. the following day. Forced entry; property was taken.

Germantown

Attempted Residential Burglary

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 12400 block of Great Park Circle at approximately 3:15 p.m. on April 14. The suspects were arrested.

Strong-Arm Robbery

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 20000 block of Century Boulevard at approximately 9:35 p.m. on April 13. One suspect assaulted the juvenile male victim. The suspects took his property.

Attempted Murder

An attempted murder incident occurred in the 14000 block of Jump Drive on April 15. The suspect was arrested. Click here for the story.

A homicide occurred in the 18700 block of Curry Powder Lane at approximately 9:15 p.m. on April 16. Click here for the story.

Montgomery Village

Vehicle Theft

A vehicle theft occurred in the 18200 block of Lost Knife Circle in the early morning hours of April 15. No force; the vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with the key inside. The vehicle was recovered the same day.

Gaithersburg

Armed Robbery

An armed robbery occurred in the unit block of Grand Corner Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. on April 19. The suspect displayed a weapon and took money and property from the two juvenile male victims.

Vehicle Theft

A vehicle theft occurred in the 19900 block of Wheelwright Drive between approximately 11:55 p.m. on April 14 and 3:56 a.m. the following day. No force; the key fob was reported to have been left inside the vehicle.
