Hit-and-Run Injures Teen Bicyclist, Driver Sought

Police is asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision Oct. 6 or who know information in the case to contact investigators.

Police officers are investigating a hit-and-run involving a teenage bicyclist and an unknown white van earlier this month. They’re asking any witnesses to the wreck to contact investigators.

Officers responded at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 6 to the Germantown Emergency Center regarding a bicyclist who was struck near on Great Seneca Highway at Wisteria Driver in Germantown.

The teen was reportedly riding across the highway in a marked crosswalk when a white van made a left turn from Wisteria Drive and struck him.

The driver of the van initially slowed after striking the teen, and then fled from the area. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at an area hospital.

The bicyclist has described the driver of the van as a black female in her 50’s and wearing glasses.
