Montgomery County Liquor Stores To ID Everyone Under New Policy
Previous Montgomery County rules required employees to card customers who look under 35. Now, liquor stores will ID everyone.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Even if you have gray hair, prepare to take out your ID when buying alcohol in Montgomery County. A new policy will take effect in July that requires liquor store employees to card all customers.
Previous rules required employees to card anyone who looks under the age of 35. Starting July 1, employees at all 27 liquor stores run by the county must ask for an ID no matter how old the person looks.
“I think the change is a good change,” the director of the Montgomery County Department of Liquor Control Robert Dorfman told NBC Washington. “It’s good for our employees and it’s good for our customers.”

According to the DLC website, liquor store employees will accept state driver's license with a picture, a passport, an immigration card issued by a State Motor Vehicle Administration or a military identification.
“We’re just going do like a lot of other restaurants and mom and pop beer and wine stores do in this county,” he told NBC Washington.
