Man Charged After Hitting MD Trooper's Car: Police
A Gaithersburg man was charged with suspected driving under the influence after hitting a Maryland state trooper's car, authorities said.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Job David Martinez, a 35-year-old man from Gaithersburg, was arrested and charged after crashing into a Maryland State Trooper's cruiser over the weekend.
A release issued by the Maryland State Police states Martinez was charged with suspected driving under the influence and taken to the Maryland State Police Rockville Barrack for processing.
Authorities with the MSP Rockville branch responded to the crash on the southbound lanes of Interstate 270 and Watkins Mill Road just before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Early findings by investigators indicate that Martinez crashed into the rear of the marked patrol vehicle while the trooper was inside his car. The trooper, who had his car's emergency lights activated, had been in the area to set up a work zone.

Although Martinez attempted to flee the scene, he was apprehended by another trooper stationed at the work zone.
The trooper injured in the crash was hospitalized and has since been released.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
The incident comes after two other troopers were injured in neighboring Prince George's County.
