ROCKVILLE, MD — ABC's "Shark Tank" on Wednesday featured area residents Tiffany and Chris McCasland, co-founders of The Chair Blanket.

The McCaslands are Rockville entrepreneurs who appeared on the show to showcase their popular creation, The Chair Blanket.

While the couple asked for a $200,000 investment in exchange for a 10% stake in their company, they ultimately left with a deal from Robert Herjavec, who clinched a 20% stake.

The pair describe their creation as a "one-of-a-kind cozy blanket and windproof, waterproof chair cover in one." But, unlike other competitors, The Chair Blanket comes with adjustable fittings that prevent it from shifting or flying away during particularly windy days.

"The nerves. The adrenaline. The surreal feeling of pitching our hearts out on the biggest stage. We gave it everything we had," reads an Instagram post shared by the McCaslands.

The McCaslands are no stranger to entrepreneurship. The family is also tied to the family-owned Quincy’s Potomac Bar and Grille and City Bonfires, a portable mini fire pit and s'mores kits that was born out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
