MVA Driving Instructor Offers License for Sex Act: Police

A Gaithersburg branch worker reportedly told a woman who failed her driving test that she could get her license if she performed a sex act.

A trip to the MVA to obtain a driver’s license ended in a frightening proposition for a woman who said her instructor offered to give her a passing grade in exchange for a sex act.

WJLA reports Daniel Perry, 21, of Temple Hills, was charged in July with malfeasance in office. Authorities also fired him from his job as an instructor at the Gaithersburg branch of the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.

Perry reportedly admitted to Maryland State Police that he told a woman she failed the test for rolling through a stop sign, but then offered to change her grade if she performed a sex act, according to charging documents filed in Montgomery County District Court. Perry then pointed to his genitals and suggested they drive to a secluded area, officials said.

The suspect said he quickly rescinded his offer and begged the woman not to report the lewd encounter, but she ran into the building and notified a State Police officer.

“Any allegation of improper behavior by MVA employees is immediately investigated and where appropriate, swift action is taken,” the state agency said in a statement. “The MVA has a zero tolerance policy and is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all customers at MVA facilities.”
