Judge sentences Derwood man to 120 years in prison for 2025 Rockville hotel killings (bethesdamagazine.com) — A Derwood man has been sentenced to 120 years in prison for the 2025 shooting deaths of two people at the Sleep Inn hotel on Research Court in Rockville. Prosecutors said he shot the victims during a planned cannabis deal, then abandoned their car nearby before returning to the hotel, where police arrested him with two handguns.

Maryland Man Sentenced to Federal Prison After Threats of Torture and Murder (mocoshow.com) — A 57-year-old Rockville man has been sentenced to nearly four years in federal prison for sending violent threats to at least 25 people across several states. FBI agents arrested him at his Rockville home in 2024, and a Delaware federal judge imposed a sentence above guidelines plus three years of supervised release.
