Police ID Pedestrian Struck And Killed By MARC Train In Rockville

The man who was fatally struck by a MARC train in Rockville Monday evening has been identified.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a MARC train in Rockville Monday evening.

Montgomery County police have identified the man as 28-year-old Arlyn Chun-Hillard, of an unconfirmed address. He was declared deceased at the scene.

The fatal collision occurred around 4:12 p.m. in the 12300 block of Washington Ave., police said. The victim was on the railroad tracks when he was struck by a MARC Brunswick Line train.

Service on the Brunswick Line was temporarily suspended. Around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, the Maryland Department of Transportation tweeted that service was restored, with trains operating at reduced speeds.

Bou Avenue was temporarily closed between Randolph Road and Chapman Avenue while police investigated.

The fatal collision was the second involving a pedestrian this year. The first incident occurred on Jan. 22 in Germantown. According to police, Randolph Garth, 60, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, was struck and killed by a CSX Freight train while crossing the tracks.
