A drug deal gone bad is the apparent motive behind last month’s shooting death in the Bel Pre area, say police, who recently arrested two suspects on murder charges.
Montgomery County Police have arrested Damien Jamaal Lee, 36, of the 3000 block of Quail Hollow Terrace in Brookeville and Delton Alex Brown, 31, of the 1100 block of West Side Drive in Gaithersburg, for the Jan. 24 murder of Wei Wu, 46, of Washington, D.C.

Both suspects have been charged with first-degree murder, police say.
Officers were called Jan. 25 to an apartment complex lot at Whispering Pines Drive and Weeping Willow Court. Dispatchers had received a 911 call from a passerby who reported a person appeared to be slumped over the wheel of a parked vehicle.

The victim -- identified as Wei Wu, 46, of the 400 block of K Street NW in Washington, D.C. – was found at the scene, police say. The medical examiner ruled that Wu died from multiple gunshot wounds, Patch earlier reported.
Investigators reportedly found cocaine and marijuana in Wu’s vehicle, along with cash, cocaine, and marijuana in his residence. Police say the quantities of narcotics found were consistent with drug distribution.
Authorities believe Lee and Brown arranged to meet Wu in the Bel Pre area to buy 3.5 pounds of marijuana from the victim. During the transaction, Wu was shot and killed and Lee and Brown divided the marijuana.
Brown was arrested Feb. 10 and Lee was arrested Feb. 12. Both have been charged with first-degree murder and are being held without bond.
