Woman Dead, Child Injured In MoCo Pedestrian Crash

ROCKVILLE, MD — A deadly pedestrian crash killed a woman and injured a child late Monday in Rockville.

Montgomery County Police said the crash occurred near the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Twinbrook Parkway, with officers dispatched to the scene shortly before 8:30 p.m.

Authorities said just before midnight that the woman had succumbed to her injuries. The child remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver remained on scene, adding that they are cooperating with investigators.

The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said the crash involved a vehicle sliding onto an embankment. No further details were provided.

The case is being investigated by the department's Collision Reconstruction Unit.
