Autopsy Finds No Trauma in Rockville Woman's Death: Update

Police say the death of a woman whose body was found in a Rockville parking lot is suspicious. Authorities need help identifying the woman.

UPDATED at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday ROCKVILLE, MD The death of an unidentified woman who was found at the back of a Rockville parking lot near an apartment complex has been deemed suspicious by Montgomery County Police. An autopsy was completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Tuesday and there was no evidence of trauma to the victim’s body.

Toxicology results from the autopsy are forthcoming.

Detectives say the woman's body was found in the 12300 block of Parklawn Drive. A passerby on his way to a Metro station saw the woman and called police about 6:30 a.m. Monday.

The woman was lying in a parking lot near the fence line at the rear of the property, which borders an apartment community. Police say residents commonly travel from the apartments through the parking lot to reach the Twinbrook Metro Station.

There was no identification with the victim and investigators have been unable to identify her so far. She is a white adult female and has several tattoos.

The body has been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death and for help identifying the woman. Investigators say photographs of the woman’s clothing and tattoos should be released to the public and media soon in an effort to aid in identifying the woman.
