"It's not uncommon at all to see deer at the park. I see them all the time when I am opening and closing—up to 15 at a time," said Justin Ramos, one of the park rangers. "Because of close proximity of where they live, they aren't afraid of people."
Ramos said there are frequent deer sightings at the park. He said it's also easy when opening the park in the morning to see where they've slept in the taller grass overnight, as it's laid down flat in the morning.
Ramos said the log book for visitors in the park office is a great tool for sharing with others what you saw during your visit. The staff asks that visitors write the time, date and where you spotted something unusual pertaining to wildlife or plants, he said.
