Girl, 16, Shot During Apartment Block Party On Friday Still Recovering From Injuries
A 16-year-old girl who was shot Friday night at a block party in Silver Spring was still recovering from her injuries on Monday, police say.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A 16-year-old girl who was shot Friday night at a block party in Silver Spring was still recovering from her injuries on Monday, according to police.
Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police responded around 9:58 p.m., on Friday to multiple reports of shots being fired at an apartment block party in the 11400 block of Stewart Lane.
Upon arrival, the officers found a 16-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Investigators determined that a dark colored sedan with three to four occupants drove up and began firing at a group of people at the block party. Except for the 16-year-old girl, no other injuries were reported.
Bullets hit three cars parked at the apartment building and officers recovered more than 30 shell casings from a handgun and a high-powered rifle, according to police.

Anyone with information or who attended the party and has cellphone video of the incident is asked to call the 3rd District Investigative Section at 240-773-5530.
Information about the shooting may also be submitted by calling Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A tipster who provides information that leads to an arrest in this case may be eligible for up to $10,000 in reward money. Callers may remain anonymous.
