40-Year-Old Laurel Man Struck, Killed By 2 Cars In Silver Spring
Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that took place early Saturday morning in Silver Spring.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A 40-year-old Laurel man dead after being struck by two cars early Saturday morning in Silver Spring, according to a police release.
Arriving around 1:50 a.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue pronounced Zelalem Yirga Adamu dead on the scene.
A preliminary investigation by Montgomery County Police detectives determined Adamu was struck by a red 2015 Lexus ES300h and a black 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee that were heading northbound on Columbia Pike south of Hillwood Drive, according to Montgomery County Police.

The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene, but the Jeep driver left the area. Hours later, they reported the collisions at a police station.
