SILVER SPRING, MD — Police are searching for a pair of suspects involved in an armed carjacking and a shooting that took place in the Bel Pre area Thursday afternoon.

Montgomery County Police said they received multiple reports just before 4 p.m. about a robbery and a shooting at the 14200 block of Pear Tree Ln. When officers responded to the scene, they found two victims on the side of the road — one of them, a 27-year-old male, was suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body.

The victims told police that at least one of the suspects threatened them with a handgun before firing a shot and hitting the 27-year-old. They said the suspects then hopped into a black Hyundai Sonata, belonging to one of the victims, and fled the scene.
