Montgomery County Police have released the surveillance video of an attempted armed robbery at a business on Old Columbia Pike.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police released surveillance video of an attempted armed robbery in Silver Spring with hopes that the public can identify the male suspect on camera.

Police say a man entered a businesses on the 13000 block of Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring on July 30 around 7:30 p.m., approached an employee working behind the county and raised a black handgun that had been in his waistband.

He demanded money but fled from the store when he saw the employee start to reach for something under the counter.
