UPDATE: Wheaton Man Who Left Silver Spring Nursing Home Found Safe

Montgomery County Police say an elderly Wheaton man who walked away from his nursing home in Silver Spring has been found safe.

UPDATED at 6:40 pm Monday WHEATON, MD — Montgomery County Police say an elderly Wheaton man who walked away from his Silver Spring nursing home last week was safe and unharmed on Monday.

Harry R. Miller, 70, left the NMS Healthcare nursing home facility at 4011 Randolph Road early Friday. Miller did not tell caretakers that he was leaving or where he was going.

Officers checked the facility's video surveillance footage and determined that Miller left the nursing home at 6:45 a.m. He left without his wallet or cellular phone.

Miller is described as a black man, 5’07” tall, and weighs 110 pounds. He has brown eyes, gray hair, and a gray mustache. He was last seen wearing a gray-colored sweatshirt.

Police say Miller has memory problems and can become confused. He has family in the District of Columbia and Bowie. Police are concerned for Miller’s welfare.
