I love flowers-but how can I use them at home

We are proud to welcome Silver Spring's own Gloria Elliot of Gloria's Events for a discussion and workshop on flowers. 

Gloria a long time Silver Spring resident and a Master Florist who after years of owning her own shop in downtown Silver Spring has retired handling a handful of select clients. Thankfully for us she is a friend of On the Purple Couch and will share her expertise with us next Saturday. 

The discussion will focus on selection, and discuss and display types of flowers. We will discuss using flowers in the home, the office and special places and occasions. Also, we'll discuss linear and what we call “face” flowers as well as the seasonality of the various blossoms.

In the Arrangement module, she will design 3-4 different styles from a single bouquet, using a variety of containers and vases. Ms. Gloria will also demonstrate 2-3 designs using Roses—an all-time favorite, and discuss the versatility of various flowers. We will also discuss fragrance in this section—the pros and cons. 

And finally how to care for our flowers. Oh yes this discussion will be rich. Ms. Gloria is no joke. Please join us and come experience the...consignment experience.
