Family Of 2 Homicide Victims Launches GoFundMe; DC Suspect Arrested
Family members are raising money to offset the funeral expenses of brothers Octavio and Osmine Quintano, who were fatally shot in D.C.
SILVER SPRING, MD — The family of two brothers who were fatally shot outside a Washington, D.C. restaurant last week has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to pay for funeral expenses and to send them to their native country of Honduras.
Just after midnight on Dec. 12, 28-year-old Octavio Quintano of Silver Spring and 35-year-old Osmine Quintano of D.C. were shot to death near The Pollo Company at 2314 4th St. N.E. Their deaths were determined to be homicides, according to police.
"Octavio was a great person, a great brother and son, a very attentive father, a very loving husband and dedicated to his family," said Octavio's wife Karen Orellana Alvarado, who organized the GoFundMe campaign. "Anyone who was close to him could tell that he was an easy-going and respectful person."

Alvarado also shared her thoughts about her brother-in-law, Osmine Quintano.
"Osmin was a great son, brother, and friend," she said. "A very kind person, and always treated others with great respect."

As of 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, the campaign had received 254 donations and raised more than $15,000 toward its goal of $20,000.
"They were two very dear brothers," Alvarado said. "At this moment there are not enough words to express our deep pain as a family. We ask for help with funeral expenses and that they can be sent to their native country, Honduras, so that they can be delivered to their mother and she can see them for the last time."
Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department arrested 24-year-old Ronzoni Allen Jackson Jr. of D.C. on Monday, charging him with two counts of first degree murder in connection with the shooting.
During his arraignment in D.C. Superior Court, Jackson pleaded not guilty to the charges. Judge Judith Pipe ordered Jackson held without bond, pending a Jan. 2 preliminary hearing at , according to police.
