A Montgomery lawmaker says the notice posted outside a Silver Spring apartment complex by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is fake.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A notice supposedly posted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement outside a Silver Spring apartment complex is fake, says a Montgomery County lawmaker.
"Please be advised that Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel from the Department of Homeland Security will be on the premises beginning August 2, 2019," the sign, which was taped on the doors of White Oak Gardens, read.
Council member Will Jawando posted two photos of the notice on Facebook Thursday, calling it a "hoax meant to upset residents."
