Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Sex Abuse of a Minor

Former swim coach Christopher Huott also has an order to not have contact with children.

Christopher Thomas Huott, 52, of the 8100 block of Westside Boulevard in Fulton, has been sentenced to 15 years in jail, with five years suspended, for sexually abusing a minor.

In March 2014, the victim contacted detectives and told them the former swim coach and founder and owner of the Maryland Suburban Swim Club in Laurel engaged her in sex acts on numerous occasions when she was a minor in his care, Patch previously reported. Huott used to coach and babysit the victim.

Huott was arrested on April 24. He pleaded guilty to one count of child abuse in July, according to My Montgomery Community Media.

Huott’s sentence will be followed by three years of probation, the news outlet reports. He has an order to not have contact with children in the future.
