Manslaughter Plea Entered By Silver Spring Man In 2021 Fatal Shooting

A Silver Spring man pleaded guilty to a manslaughter while armed charge in the 2021 fatal shooting of Noel Nicole in Washington, D.C.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A 23-year-old Silver Spring man pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter while armed on Tuesday in the fatal shooting of Noel Nicol on Oct. 11, 2021 in Washington, D.C.

On Oct. 11, 2021, Jordan Jones arranged a meeting with Nicol. This occurred the day after Jones had purchased a 9mm handgun, which was the same caliber as the handgun used to kill Jones, according to court documents.

Investigators with the Metropolitan Police Department obtained surveillance video footage from the day and time when Nicol was last seen by his family up to Oct. 14, according to court documents. That was the day when police found Nicol's body in the driver's seat of a car parked in the 2000 block of Savannah Place Southeast.

Jones admitted during a post-arrest interview that he was a passenger in the car during the shooting. Physical evidence gathered by police at the crime scene and the medical examiner's findings were consistent with shots being fired from the passenger side of the car, according to court documents.

Jones pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Michael O’Keefe. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 15, 2024.
