Silver Spring Engineer Honored By MD Science Center For Work At Johns Hopkins Lab
Jeffrey Boye was recently recognized as a 2023 Outstanding Young Engineer by the Maryland Science Center.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Jeffrey Boye, a satellite hardware engineer from Silver Spring, was recently name a 2023 Outstanding Young Engineer by the Maryland Science Center.
Boye, who works in the applied physics lab at Johns Hopkins University, designed hardware as part of several notable projects, including the Parker Solar Probe mission and the Double Asteroid Redirect Test. He also contributed to a navigation processor that will fly around the surface of Saturn's moon Titan as part of the Dragonfly mission.
The outstanding young engineer award is presented to scientists or engineers working in academia who are 35 and younger, according to a release. The Maryland Academy of Sciences' Scientific Advisory Council chose the honorees, who were recognized during a ceremony on May 18.

“This year’s award honorees exemplify the values we celebrate everyday at the Maryland Science Center — curiosity, inquiry, and discovery,” said Mark J. Potter, president and CEO of the Maryland Science Center, in a release. “Their commitment to the process of exploration serves as a role model for other young professionals, educators and students seeking to understand and better our world.”
