MD Woman Wins $150K From Virginia Lottery

A Silver Spring woman recently won big money after she purchased a Virginia Lottery ticket in Fairfax County.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Kanlayanee Supho, a Silver Spring woman who works in Virginia's McLean area, recently discovered that she was the owner of a $150,000 lottery ticket.

Virginia Lottery said in a Thursday release that Supho bought a ticket for the Dec. 10 Powerball drawing but hadn't realized until two months later that she had won.

While Supho's winning ticket normally would've won her $50,000 since she matched four of the draws and the Powerball number, she tripled her jackpot by spending a dollar on Power Play.
