Montgomery Schools Rank Among Top Maryland High Schools

2016 Best High Schools U.S. News Rankings include top schools in Maryland. Methodology includes graduation rates for first time.

U.S. News and World Report has released its rankings of more than 21,000 public high schools across the country, again placing Montgomery County high schools among the best educations that America has to offer.

The top six schools in the state were in Montgomery County, according to the U.S. News rankings released overnight.

  1. Walt Whitman High, Bethesda, Montgomery County Public Schools, #63 Nationally
  2. Winston Churchill High, Potomac, Montgomery County Public Schools, #94 Nationally
  3. Poolesville High, Poolesville, Montgomery County Public Schools, #107 Nationally
  4. Thomas S. Wootton High, Rockville, Montgomery County Public Schools, #115 Nationally
  5. Walter Johnson High, Bethesda, Montgomery County Public Schools, #147 Nationally
  6. Richard Montgomery High, Rockville, Montgomery County Public School, #260 Nationally

Overall, Maryland was at the top of the list of states with nationally-ranked high schools. Virginia was ranked No. 12.
