Mother Searches Silver Spring Home For Misplaced $50K Lottery Ticket
Silver Spring mother panicked when she couldn't remember where she'd put a winning Maryland Lottery ticket worth $50,000.

SILVER SPRING, MD — As a full-time mother of a 2-year-old and an infant, 41-year-old Srijana Wosti of Silver Spring has a lot on her mind. So, it's understandable that she forgot where she'd put the Family Feud scratch-off ticket she'd bought worth $50,000.
Srijana purchased the ticket back in June, after she'd finished taking a stroll in the park. She remembers feeling lucky when she stopped at the Kemp Mill Beer, Wine & Deli at 1339 Lamberton Drive in Silver Spring to buy the $5 Family Feud scratch-off ticket.
“I like to watch the show on television, and, I like that Steve Harvey," Srijana told officials at the Maryland Lottery's headquarters in Baltimore. She'd been buying tickets since the game debuted in April.

But on that June day, Srijana checked her ticket in the store. At first, she thought she'd won only $50, but when she scanned it using the MD Lottery app, Srijana discovered she'd won the top prize in the game.
“I kept scanning it over and over,” she said. “I was so happy.”

After celebrating the good news with her family, Srijana tucked the ticket away in a suitcase and promptly forgot about it.
When Srijana realized the deadline was nearing to cash the ticket, she panicked because she couldn't remember where she'd stashed it. After a thorough search of her home, Srijana found it again in the suitcase and visited lottery headquarters to redeem her prize money.
“I was so relieved to find it, and to know I wasn’t too late," Srijana said, adding she would use the money to pay some family bills.
For selling a $50,000 top-prize winning ticket, Kemp Mill Beer, Wine & Deli will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.
