• Silver Spring man charged with rape, assault in Takoma Park, police say (wusa9.com) — A 21-year-old Silver Spring resident has been charged with multiple serious offenses after police say an 18-year-old woman reported being attacked at a Takoma Park residence and later went to White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring. Officers arrested the suspect after asking him to come to the Takoma Park Police Department, and he now faces rape, assault, and false imprisonment charges.
