Police Canvas Area of Silver Spring Stabbing, Robbery

"You are going to die tonight," a robber told a woman last month during an attack in Silver Spring. The public's help is needed to find him.

Montgomery County Police detectives will hand out flyers to residents in the area of the Forest Park Apartments about 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, in an effort to find a man who stabbed a woman at the Silver Spring site.

The woman was attacked Sept. 29 by a robber with a knife while walking near the apartments in the 9300 block of Piney Branch Road. Police say the suspect demanded money from the victim, who replied that she had no money. The suspect then said, “Then you are going to die tonight.”

He then knocked her down and stabbed her several times with a knife. A passerby who saw the attack called police. The victim has been released from the hospital and is now recovering at home, police say.
