Multiple Charges Filed Against Silver Spring Man In February Shooting That Injured 1

A Silver Spring man faces multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, in connection with a Feb. 25 shooting incident.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A 43-year-old Silver Spring man is facing multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, in connection with a shooting that took place February in the 2900 block of Marlow Farm Terrace, according to police.

Around 1:03 a.m., on Feb. 25, Montgomery County Police responded to multiple reports of shots being fire in the Fairland Road area and eventually located the scene of the shooting on Marlow Farm Terrace.

Police also responded to a local hospital for the report of a patient being treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Olutoye Ayorinde of Silver Spring faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and firearm related charges. (MCDP)

Through their investigation, detectives identified Olutoye Ayorinde of Silver Spring as a suspect in the case, according to police. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant on June 12, charging Ayorinde with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and firearm related charges. Ayorinde was arrested on June 20.

Acting on a residential search warrant, detectives located a stolen firearm from Ayorinde's residence, according to police.

Ayorinde remains in custody in the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit without bond.
