Silver Spring Man Struck, Killed In Pedestrian Collision: Police
Montgomery County Police detectives are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred Sunday on Veirs Mill Road.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police are investigating a pedestrian collision that killed a 46-year-old Silver Spring man early Sunday morning, according to a release.
MCDP officers and units from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded around 5:04 a.m., for the report of a pedestrian being struck in the area of Veirs Mill and Newport Mill roads.
Investigators determined that a dark blue 2007 Toyota Rav4 was traveling eastbound on Veirs Mill Road when it struck a pedestrian, whom police identified on Monday as Hernan Zuasnabar Cunyas.

Cunyas was pronounced dead and the driver of the Rav4 remained on the scene following the collision, according to police.
