Silver Spring Restaurant Makes 'Best DC Area Dishes' List

A Silver Spring restaurant has one of 2017's best dishes in the DC area, according to The Washington Post.

SILVER SPRING, MD —A Silver Spring restaurant made The Washington Post's "40 Most Essential DC Restaurant Dishes of 2017."

Jewel of India made the list for their prawn vindaloo dish, a popular dish throughout India. The dish costs $20 and features a creamy sauce, potatoes and prawn.

"We’d argue that it’s more sharp than spicy. That’s most likely due to the addition of white vinegar, which speaks volumes over the chile notes. The creamy sauce, flavored with garlic, ginger, cumin and coriander, glides over slightly soft potato hunks and plump rounds of prawn, their natural sweetness complementing the touch of sugar that goes into this ruddy red curry," The Post says of the dish.
