A Starbucks employee donated $1,600 worth of Starbucks Stars to Small Things Matter, which used them to purchase 400 breakfast sandwiches.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A donation by a local Starbucks employee helped to pay for 400 breakfast sandwiches that were donated to residents at Hampshire Tower Apartments in Takoma Park.
Starbucks employee Rob Grimes had accumulated 56,117 Stars through his company's customer rewards program.
On Thursday, Grimes donated the stars to Small Things Matter, a local charity that serves more than 1,000 food-insecure families in Takoma Park, Silver Spring, and Rockville. The donation was used to purchase the breakfast sandwiches, which were valued at more than $1,600.
