Takoma Park Woman Arrested For Armed Carjacking After Fleeing On Foot
A 29-year-old Takoma Park woman faces multiple weapons charges related to an armed carjacking that took place Sunday in Washington, D.C.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — A Takoma Park woman is facing multiple weapons charges in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C., according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
A preliminary investigation revealed that around 4:04 p.m. on Sunday, 29-year-old Emily Cabrera of Takoma Park approached the victim, who was sitting in a vehicle in the 1700 block of Euclid Street, Northwest.
Pointing a handgun at the victim, Cabrera ordered them to get out of the vehicle, according to police. Once the victim complied, Cabrera was unable to operate the vehicle. She then fled the scene and was later apprehended by police who had responded to the scene.

MPD charged Cabrera with armed carjacking (gun), carrying a pistol without a license, possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, and unlawful possession of ammunition, according to police.
