SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police released a surveillance video Friday that shows a man they say took items from the laundry room at a Silver Spring apartment complex. Investigators are asking the public's help in identifying the man in the video, which can be viewed below.

A preliminary investigation determined that around 7:06 a.m., on May 14, a man entered the basement laundry room of a secured-access apartment building in the 8200 block of Nolte Avenue. After breaking a washing machine, the man took an undisclosed amount of money from the coin slot, according to police.

At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a white headscarf, white T-shirt and blue jeans, according to police.

Anyone who recognizes the man in the video or who has other information about this incident is asked to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of the suspect in this case is eligible of a reward of up to $10,000. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
