Video: Witnesses Disarm, Restrain Silver Spring Shooting Suspect
Witnesses to a Silver Spring shooting Monday night wrestled with the suspect and restrained him until officers arrived, according to police.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police released a video Tuesday showing witnesses fighting with and restraining a suspect following a shooting Monday night in Silver Spring, according to a police release.
Officers responded around 5:56 p.m., on Monday, for the report of a shooting in the 1700 block of Mount Pisgah Lane. Arriving on the scene, the officers found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds and a suspect that police identified as Marcus Elijah Conway being restrained by multiple witnesses, according to the release. Police also found a small black handgun that witnesses said had been taken away from Conway.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Conway was seen lying on top of the victim, struggling with something, according to police.

When the victim went limp, Conway rolled away and pointed a black, Taurus .38 Special, five-shot revolver at the victim's head and pulled the trigger, the witnesses told police. With a loud click, the gun misfired.
One of the witnesses kicked Conway and started to fight with him for possession of the gun. Others joined in and they were able to wrest the gun from Conway and restrain him until officers arrived, according to the release.

Police arrested Conway, charging him with attempted 2nd degree murder, first degree assault, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, according to the release. He is currently being held without bond.
