YMCA Lifeguards Save Drowning Swimmer In Silver Spring: MCFRS
Silver Spring YMCA lifeguards saved a drowning swimmer on Saturday, according to authorities.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A swimmer was saved by lifeguards after nearly drowning at the Silver Spring YMCA on Saturday, according to Montgomery County fire and rescue officials.
The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. at the YMCA's community swimming pool on Hastings Drive. Lifeguards performed CPR and were able to resuscitate the unresponsive victim before first responders arrived.
Officials say the swimmer is an adult, but did not release any more information. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Saturday afternoon's incident comes almost one month to the day after another drowning swimmer was saved by a local lifeguard.
"Life Guards do it again," said Pete Piringer, spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.
