High school football schedules set for 2026 season (localnews1.org) ā Smithsburg football fans can now map out every Friday night this fall, with the Leopards opening on the road Sept. 4 at Francis Scott Key and hosting Williamsport a week later. The full 2026 schedule includes key October home games against Poolesville, Fort Hill, and Boonsboro, plus plenty of regional rivalry matchups for nearby schools.

Smithsburg resident and commissioner candidate Dave Williams pressed officials on whether the move skirts a state order limiting sewer expansion and could someday enable more intensive uses, but staff said any major change would require new reviews.
