19-Year-Old Man Arrested For Stealing Car In Takoma Park

Trevon Deangelo Joines was arrested for stealing a car from Scissor & Comb Salon, police told Patch.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — A young man from Laurel was arrested for auto theft in Takoma Park last week, police announced Friday, Feb. 10. Trevon Deangelo Joines, 19, was arrested by Prince George’s County Police and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

At about 6:45 p.m. Feb. 3, Takoma Police responded to Scissor & Comb Salon at the 7000 block of Carroll Avenue for the report of a stolen vehicle, police said.

The victim stated that three individuals had walked into the salon, spent some time using the restroom and hanging around before leaving the establishment, police said.

Upon leaving the salon, the victim noticed his black 2016 Ford F-150 Sport vehicle was missing. The keys to the car were left unattended in the salon, police told Patch.

A salon stylist observed the vehicle eastbound on Westmoreland Avenue at approximately 5:30 pm, but thought the owner had been driving it.

Through further investigation, officers recovered the vehicle in Prince George's County and identified the male as Joines, police told Patch.
