Victim Cut With Knife In Assault Near Takoma Park Bank
Police are searching for two suspects who attempted to rob a victim with a knife near SunTrust Bank Tuesday morning.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — Police are searching for two suspects who attempted to rob a victim with a knife on Laurel Avenue Tuesday morning.
Police were called to the 6900 block of Laurel Ave. at about 7 a.m. to investigate the assault. The victim told police he had left SunTrust Bank when he was approached by a female who demanded his cell phone and money.
When the victim refused, a male suspect took out a knife and snatched the cell phone from the victim, police said. The victim grabbed for his cell phone and was cut by the knife. Both the suspects fled the area on foot and the victim was able to retain his property.

Police describe the first suspect as a black female in her 20s with a slim build. She was wearing a white shirt, white pants with holes in the knees and had her hair in a ponytail. The second suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, 5"6' and about 180 pounds. He has a goatee and was wearing blue jeans and a black shirt, police said.
