The National Air Traffic Controllers Association Charitable Foundation is Running a National Online Food Drive for New Jersey Food Banks
The National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) Charitable Foundation (NCF) is harnessing the goodwill of NATCA’s members -- 15,000 air traffic controllers and other aviation safety professionals -- by running a national online food drive that will benefit those New Jersey residents who are recovering from Hurricane Sandy.
The nonprofit charitable foundation has launched a food drive through YouGiveGoods, an organization that runs on-line foods drives that provide immediate relief where it is most needed. The NCF drive runs through December 17 at http://www.yougivegoods.com/NCFSupportsSandyVictims. All of the food purchased will be donated to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

“I truly hope that all my NATCA brothers and sisters will share some joy this holiday season with residents of New Jersey who are in need,” says Ray Adams, NATCA Facility Representative at Newark Tower. “Many people lost property, jobs or weeks of wages and are living in temporary housing or shelters. We can't fix all their problems, but we can feed their families with a food donation that will directly benefit victims.”
The NCF goal is $10,000 worth of food to be purchased for the food bank.

NCF President Elena Nash reports that buying food items through the online drive is “super easy.” Members of NATCA can see hourly the purchases of food, from cases of macaroni and cheese and low sugar cereal to boxes of chicken noodle soup and fresh fruit. Instead of a monetary donation, donors have the satisfaction of knowing that their specific purchases will be delivered.
“This national union wanted to do something special for New Jersey residents hard hit by the hurricane, and our technology is enabling them to get their entire organization involved, with members as far away as Alaska able to participate,” says YouGiveGoods’ CEO, Patrick O’Neill.
NCF is a 100% volunteer organization with philanthropic efforts and programs that stretch across the country as volunteers work to make a difference in many lives.
