MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A former officer with D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department was indicted Monday for several sexual assault cases that took place across Maryland and Virginia.

Timothy Valentin, a 30-year-old from Prince George's County, is facing over a dozen charges after investigators say he drugged women on dates and then assaulted them once they were unconscious.

Ahead of the news briefing, the Takoma Park Police Department revealed that the bureau was informed by the Alexandria Police Department on Feb. 5 that one case traced back to Silver Spring.

The department said in a release that a sexual assault case linked to Valentin occurred last April, when police say Valentin met with a woman at Blue Sunday's Bar & Grill in Bowie before the pair went to the Society Restaurant & Lounge in Silver Spring.

Police say Valentin took the woman to the 7600 block of Hammond Avenue in Takoma Park, where the sexual assault took place, later that night. The woman is in communication with investigators.

Authorities believe Valentin, who is known to have used multiple aliases, could be tied to additional cases.

At present, at least six cases have been identified in Prince George's County, as another four were reported in Alexandria.

Valentin worked with the D.C. Police between 2017 and 2022. Officials did not state why he left the bureau.

The Alexandria Police Department was first flagged about Valentin in the spring of 2025, according to Police Chief Tarrick McGuire, who said that first case was reported to D.C. Police before it was formally handed to the Alexandria bureau in August.

The Takoma Park Police Department is working in coordination with the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office.
