Attempted Stolen Auto on Lincoln Avenue

Police are looking for six suspects and three suspect vehicles.

A witness saw two suspects jump out of a Dodge Caravan they were attempting to steal before fleeing the scene with four other suspects in three suspect vehicles, according to Takoma Park Police.

At approximately 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, the witness observed a red Jeep, an unknown black vehicle and a third unknown vehicle in front of the victim's Dodge Caravan, which had been driven up onto the curb in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue, police said.

Two young black males with dreadlocks were seen jumping out of the Dodge Caravan and into the red Jeep; all three vehicles then headed down Lincoln Avenue in the direction of Elm Avenue, said police.

Six suspects, described as young black males with dreadlocks, were involved in this incident, police said. Alerts were given for all three suspect vehicles.

An inspection of the Dodge Caravan revealed the ignition had been removed and was later recovered on the passenger side floorboard, police said. A brick was also found on the dashboard.
