Burglar Uses PETA As Cover
A man who burglarized a house in the 7400 block of Holly Avenue was posing as a PETA advocate and going door to door.

A man posing as a representative for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) burglarized a home in the 7400 block of Holly Avenue FridayΒ SomeΒ time between 12:00 p.m. and 12:40 p.m. an unknown subject made entry toΒ the residence and took property.
Β A K-9 track was conducted which ledΒ officers to Piney Branch Road where the track was lost. Β Earlier in theΒ afternoon, units had responded to Holly Avenue and Dogwood Avenue forΒ reports of a suspicious black male with short hair, wearing aΒ white tee-shirt and blue pants knocking on people's doors and handingΒ out vegetarian and PETAΒ magazines. Β PETA magazines were found scattered in the back yard of theΒ burglary victim's residence.
Police are asking for information from anyone who had contact with a person givingΒ out vegetarian and PETA magazines.
