Brother Sun is the inspired collaboration between three singer-songwriters: Joe Jencks, Greg Greenway and Pat Wictor. The trio fuses folk, Gospel, Americana, blues, pop, jazz, rock influences. They are superlative three-part, a cappella harmony singers who also have gained acclaim for their accomplished guitar, slide guitar, bouzouki and piano accompaniments.

Brother Sun, as befits a group whose name comes from a poem by St. Francis of Assisi, is not just about beautiful sound; the trio’s songs come straight from hearts that are fixed on the cause of social justice. Band member Greg Greenway sums up the group’s sense of mission by saying, “We’re cheerleaders for grace and humanity.” This commitment to a cause gives the trio’s music an extra dimension. They sing with the energy and emotion of Gospel music while incorporating the rhythms of rock, pop and soul music. Greenway and his fellow group members write songs that depict the plight of immigrants, the homeless and the downtrodden as well as funny songs that target the hypocrisy of crooked politicians and Fox News.

If you love beautiful music with poetic and meaningful lyrics, you’ll love Brother Sun! You can learn more about them at their website, http://www.brothersunmusic.com/
